This vintage-style pinafore pattern has side ties and sweet little ruffle “sleeves”. The pieced bodice is the perfect place for embroidery, monogramming, or showcasing a motif from your fabric’s print. Apron-style front can have optional pockets with bias trim.

You’ll recognize pinafores from Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy in Oz and other favorite storybook characters. Real children wore them all the time! They are still so useful for dressing up a plainer dress for everyday wear. They function as a protective apron that can be easily washed, keeping the dress beneath clean. The word pinafore comes from the fact they were originally just “pinned” to the front, or “fore” of a dress, and thus called the ‘pinafore”! No fasteners to worry about in the wash.

This listing is for the pinafore pattern ONLY, no underdress pattern is included. The pinafore is designed to fit over the Easy Peasy Peasant pattern but looks adorable over a variety of dresses and outfits for every day, special occasion, and dress up or costume wear. Length is very easy to customize.
